Solly

As I lie here in the early hours of darkness - waiting for the sun to rise - my thoughts peregrinate idly. I am reconciled to the fact that the way of all flesh is the same. I am not afraid of what is to come. I've had a full life - an enjoyable life with numerous friends. Recently, when illness started taking its toll - I had a visit from my grandson. "Pop", he said, "I want to say something. I cam to tell you how we appreciate the role model you have been." This young man made my day. What greater tribute can a grandson give his grandfather? He is an example of the rest of the family. Each in their own way, adoring, kind and attentive. As I prepare to leave this earth for that far bourne from whence no man returns I would like to say that if I have inadvertently hurt somebody's feelings - I beg their forgiveness. I want to be remembered as one who loved his fellow man, and whose fellow man loved him. I would ask my family not to mourn unduly. I love you all.
